Humans all enjoy appearing attractive to others. Unfortunately, most of us have a few extra pounds. That fact will change how others think of us. Given the unhealthy aspects of our "fast food lifestyles", we are also asking health problems later in life. Obesity can be found in every corner of the globe. It is an insidious disease that must be stopped for the benefit of all mankind.

It is true that there is a myriad of 'fat burners' available today. But the question is whether these fat burners are really effective. Dieticians are of the view that obesity can be controlled if a proper food-routine is followed. Gym-trainers, on the other hand, emphasize on the importance of regular cardiovascular exercise-sessions.

There is no single program or medication available today to help you lose weight. In order to really shed those excess pounds and inches, you need to tailor fit a plan to you that includes fitness and a balanced diet. In order to understand how to lose the weight, lets start by understanding the factors behind obesity. Proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals are the five important nutrients the human body needs to grow.

Most of the people nurse the misconception that all types of carbohydrates and fats aggravate the problem of obesity. However, the truth is that not all carbohydrates and fats are responsible for making us overweight. In fact, 'low glycemic index' foods can help you lose fat. It is also important to keep an eye on your calorie-intake if you are serious about losing weight.

Aerobics also prove to be highly effective to help a person reduce weight. There are three types of Cardiovascular exercises - 'low intensity cardio', 'moderate intensity cardio' and 'high intensity cardio'. If the person wants to lose their extra pounds, he must first do 'low intensity cardio' exercises, then slowly move to 'moderate intensity cardio' exercises and finally undertake 'high intensity cardio' exercises. It is essential to follow this sequence to reduce weight.

Dancing can also help you "loose weight". It is also important to curb your appetite if you are serious about losing weight. Overeating would never help you if you want to get a sexy hour glass figure. Finally, you need to stick to your exercise as well as diet plan. A lazy approach towards losing weight will not yield any positive result. Remember, with a systematic approach, you too can "loose weight".
