Dance Sites World

by Fred Wild

Among the plethora of information available, the internet currently includes an extensive variety of resources useful to those in the dance community. Students, performers, and audience members learn quickly to search online for information about this pastime. There are dancing websites about many aspects of the dance world, and any new company affiliated with dance needs to utilize this opportunity by creating their own website.

Swing dance is a special favorite of mine. I took my first swing dance class in 2003 as a complete novice to dancing. I was one of those people with two left feet. I wasn't a natural on my feet, but the swinging beat of the music got be hooked. I built a lot of great relationships and made a lot of fun memories.

My first impulse was to look up more information about dancing online. The most helpful dance sites were ones that gave local information. I was glad when I could pull up a calendar showing dances that were coming up in my area.

Another great feature that I found on dance sites was message boards that allowed dancers to keep in touch with each other "off the floor." Dancers could use these messages boards to exchange information about dance happenings as well as shoes and other equipment for sale. Some of the most interesting posts compared the merits of various local DJs, so that you could be sure when you headed out for the night that you'd enjoy the music!

I would definitely recommend that anyone starting a dance-related business start a website to advertise themselves. Say, for example, you are opening a new studio to give ballet lessons to kids. Why not use the internet to make yourself known to all the parents surfing the web looking for ballet websites to sign their kids up for classes!

As an experienced dancer I can tell you that some dance websites will provide you with a lot of good information. It is clear that other dancers also depend on the Internet to retrieve information about events related to dance. People who have dance related businesses would be wise to benefit from this interest by opening their own dance sites.

From the time I first got involved in dance, I visited a number of dancing websites on a regular basis. I immediately looked to the Internet to try to find information about dancing. The dance sites I preferred displayed lots of local information. It was nice to have access to dance schedules around my neighborhoods. Anybody with a business related to dance should begin their own website. So, for example, if you specialize in dance lessons for kids, you would advertise with your own ballet websites. Parents surfing the Internet will come across your page and sign up their children for your class.
