Write The Killer Sales Page

by Dan Farrell

When you market online it is very important to remember 3 things. You need an expanding market that wants what you have to offer. Second, you have to ensure that your product or the service you are offering will benefit them in some way and/or solve some problem they have. Thirdly have powerful marketing methods to show them what you have. Lastly and most importantly you need a killer sales page to close your sales.

Many people neglect to put the necessary effort into their sales pages and suffer the consequences of low or nonexistent sales. Sales pages are the heart of your business and without a good one even the hottest product cannot get sold. Here are some tips to get you started:

1. Learn from the greats in the business. Go to the websites of the master copywriters and check out what they have for a sales page. Just type 'copywriters' into Google and check out the first 10 that come up. You can get some ideas, but don't steal their copy or you'll get in trouble.

2. Understand and use the three P's of copywriting

a. Make it personal

b. Make it precise and streamlined

c. Make it persuasive

3. Tailor your layout to your product or service. There are many different layouts that you will be able to use. Basically your sales page will be in 3 parts. a. First bring the problem being solved to your reader's attention, emphasizing it.

b. Secondly you will be presenting your product or service, and showing your reader how it will help them and resolve their problems with benefits etc.

c. Conclusion: This will include the call for action, and a guarantee etc.

4. Your headlines will attract the reader and make them want to keep reading, so first do the main headlines, then the sub headlines, and finally fill in all the details. All headlines must draw the reader in.

5. Make an iron clad guarantee so your potential customer will be more inclined to buy from you and have more trust in what you are selling.

Take the time to study up a bit on writing good copy. Every pro knows that no sales page is ever set completely in stone, and that a change in a word or two can increase sales.

Split testing: This is a very necessary part of getting your sales copy to produce the highest sales conversions. Here are some steps to do this:

1. Make 2 sales pages for the same product or service

2. Each one should be written with some slight differences.

3. Watch which one brings in the most traffic.

4. Get traffic driven to both of the pages.

5. Monitor each page and see which one brings in the most sales.

6. Use the one with the highest sales conversion

Mistakes to avoid:

1. Don't include a lot of hype

2. Unprofessional presentation.

3. Using features instead of benefits

Ensure you read your own site from the buyer's viewpoint, and ensure you are convincing yourself to buy. And use the pointers above to make a success of your venture.
